Capture

Hyperlinked Learning Organizations

Make connections and links in knowledge for sharing rather than people having to relearn the connections.

Think in terms of webs of knowledge.

Learn through processes of identifying and connecting knowledge.

A method to continually increase capacity to learn is to choose a recent artifact such as a document that the team has produced.

Identify correlations to other areas that relate to the artifact and list them for team discussion and exploration.

Create links from the artifact to the related items listed with appropriate mechanisms such as:

Hyperlinks in HTML, links within documents, highlighting with footnotes, cross-references that will lead the person to the connection.

Build and organize archives where links can take the learner across multiple documents/artifacts.

Store

Build elaborate and large systems for storing these types of artifacts such as tape drives, and compression mechanisms.

Retrieve/Share

Link current artifacts with archived artifacts so that the knowledge doesn't become something that is simply stored and not shared.
