Establish a Climate of Trust

Share all information with the team. Establish an infrastructure designed to support information networks.

Avoid responding to people in anger. This builds mistrust.

Involve all team members even if it is simply providing information.

If a mistake is made, "own it." Denial of mistakes made will build mistrust.

Have ongoing discussions and have regularly scheduled meetings.

Make trust the topic of a team meeting. Discuss its importance and explore how mistrust has effected the school in the past.

Explore with the team other ways to build trust, and how to avoid building mistrust.

Use mechanisms such as listserves, email, and conferencing for sharing information with all team members.
